Trauma & Attachment

Relational trauma isn't always about one big event; it’s about the quiet ways your worth was eroded over time.

Living with Relational Trauma

  • Chronic people-pleasing or fear of setting boundaries

  • Feeling like you’re always "too much" or "not enough" in your relationships

  • A loud inner critic that tells you you're "broken" or "unlovable"

  • Feeling "anxious" or "avoidant" in friendships and partnerships

  • Difficulty trusting your own intuition

These are the lasting effects relational trauma can have on us and our relationships with others.

In addition to EMDR, using Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, can help you understand your inner critic, your inner child, and the parts of you that believe it isn't safe to trust others. By centering your "Wise Self," you can reassure the protective and wounded parts of you that they are no longer alone. You are an adult now, equipped with the strength to do hard things—like setting boundaries, practicing vulnerability, and finally prioritizing your own needs.
