What to expect from me
As an LGBTQ+, anti-racist, and unapologetically liberal therapist, my practice is built on social justice, client’s right to self- determination, and connection. I believe therapy is a relationship between two people, not a dynamic where I hold all the answers. My approach is fundamentally trauma-informed and person-centered.
My core values are honesty, loyalty, compassion, autonomy, and knowledge. In practice, this means:
I'm a gentle but direct therapist; I'll offer my thoughts and opinions rather than just the classic 'How does that make you feel?'
I am fiercely supportive of my clients, always honoring your choices because I recognize decisions are shaped by unique lived experiences.
Accountability and taking responsibility is important, but only when necessary. Practicing compassion for ourselves can allow us to let go of shame, anger, and suffering.
My value of knowledge drives me to help you understand the significant impacts trauma has on both the brain and body.
